Middle School Language Arts and French

I grew up in the little town of Pampa, Texas. I have three sisters. The little one was my first “student.” I don’t remember when I didn’t plan on being a teacher. I attended Hardin-Simmons University. My first teaching job was in Lubbock, Texas way back in 1971!

I took a 17 year hiatus to raise two daughters, Sarah and Leah. I came to St. Mary’s as a substitute teacher. Mrs. Srodes (Mrs. Blanton’s mom) asked if I would sub, and I’ve been here ever since. You know what made me want to teach here? It was the good manners of the children! Everything was “Yes, M’am, please, thank you.” I found it so refreshing!

I will always treasure the students I have taught and the many memories they have given me. Thank you for letting me be a part of such a special place!
